ADVANCED SPACE EXPLORATION AND INCREASE IN GLOBAL REPUTATION 


Chandrayaan-2 Mission:

 Launched in July 2019, Chandrayaan-2 was India's second lunar exploration mission. While the lander Vikram experienced a hard landing, the orbiter continues to study the Moon's surface and composition, providing valuable data for scientific research.

Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan): 

Launched in November 2013, Mangalyaan made ISRO the first Asian country to reach Mars orbit and the fourth space agency in the world to do so. Mangalyaan continues to study Mars' surface, atmosphere, and mineralogy, contributing to our understanding of the Red Planet.

PSLV-C51/RISAT-2BR2 Mission:

 In February 2021, ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) successfully launched the RISAT-2BR2 radar imaging satellite along with several smaller payloads. RISAT-2BR2 enhances India's capabilities in Earth observation, agriculture, forestry, and disaster management.

Gaganyaan Mission:

 ISRO is actively developing the Gaganyaan mission, India's first crewed spaceflight program. The mission aims to send Indian astronauts into space aboard a domestically developed spacecraft, demonstrating India's human spaceflight capabilities.

Cartosat Series of Satellites: 

ISRO's Cartosat series of Earth observation satellites provide high-resolution imagery and data for cartographic applications, urban planning, and environmental monitoring. Recent launches have expanded India's remote sensing capabilities.

NavIC Navigation System: 

ISRO's Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) is a regional satellite navigation system designed to provide accurate positioning and timing information over the Indian subcontinent and surrounding regions. NavIC enhances India's navigation capabilities and reduces dependency on foreign systems.

Space Situational Awareness:

 ISRO has initiated efforts to enhance space situational awareness (SSA) capabilities, including the establishment of a dedicated SSA control center. These efforts aim to monitor and track space debris, satellites, and other objects in Earth's orbit to ensure the safety of space assets.
